Construction starts in 2006 and in season 2006-2007, Rainbow Growers starts to grow peppers in North Holland. Ever since, the company has grown into four greenhouses that total an area of 40 hectares. Every day, about 150 people are working in the greenhouses to produce delicious peppers.

In 2005, the first plans to develop Kwekerij de Wieringermeer are made.
Location manager
Mark Brekelmans
Mark started working as a location manager for Kwekerij de Wieringermeer in 2020, when he moved up north to live with his girlfriend. Before working in agriculture, Mark worked in the oil business and the mining sector.
The cultivation
The greenhouses
In the coming season, all greenhouses will grow red bell peppers from the Alzamora breed. We use rockwool slabs and don’t use artificial lightning. The V-system is used in all of the greenhouses.
